Founder & Managing Partner — Mohammed Younis
Engineering Authority in the Age of Information Science
Mohammed Younis is the Founder, Managing Partner, and Chief Scientist of Younis Group, a London-based Information Sciences consultancy specialising in Search Sciences™, the applied discipline of ensuring organisations are accurately interpreted, connected, and attributed across search engines, AI systems, and recommendation platforms.

From Keywords to Knowledge
Modern discovery systems no longer retrieve information, they synthesise it. Traditional SEO organises keywords and pages; Information Science organises entities, relationships, and meaning.
Mohammed designed Search Sciences™ to address this shift. The methodology applies principles from:
- Information Retrieval
- Ontology and Taxonomy Design
- Knowledge Graph Theory
These principles ensure organisations are understood as coherent, authoritative sources of truth across search engines, AI assistants, and multi-platform discovery environments.
Role as Chief Scientist
As Chief Scientist, Mohammed is responsible for the development, validation, and evolution of the Search Sciences™ methodology. His remit includes:
- Design and Oversight of Search Sciences™ — maintaining methodological integrity and scientific rigor.
- Entity Modelling & Knowledge Graph Strategy — ensuring organisations are represented accurately in structured data and AI systems.
- Measurement Frameworks for Attribution and Visibility — tracking how brands are referenced, attributed, and understood across discovery systems.
- Monitoring Algorithmic and Model Changes — interpreting updates in search engines, generative AI, and platform-based discovery systems to preserve organisational authority.
In this capacity, Mohammed acts as the methodological gatekeeper, ensuring that technical decisions remain independent of commercial delivery pressures to maintain scientific integrity.
His work spans Discovery Diagnostics, Semantic Engineering, and Search Intelligence, enabling organisations to become verifiable sources of truth in complex digital ecosystems.
Professional Experience
Before founding Younis Group, Mohammed worked across London and the UK, applying entity-first, information-driven strategies for local and multi-platform discovery. He partnered with location-based clients to map information footprints, improve AI recognition, and optimise visibility across search engines, maps, marketplaces, and other digital platforms.
Earlier, at Synergy Communications, he progressed from Traditional SEO Executive to SEO Manager, leading large-scale discovery programmes for public sector and enterprise organisations, including national household brands. This hands-on experience informed his transition from standard search tactics to an Information Science-led approach.
Authorship and Methodology Stewardship
Mohammed Younis is the originator and ongoing scientific custodian of the Search Sciences™ methodology.
While Search Sciences™ is developed, applied, and governed at an organisational level by Younis Group, Mohammed remains responsible for its conceptual foundations, validation frameworks, and scientific evolution. This ensures continuity of method, interpretative consistency, and long-term resilience as discovery systems and AI models change.
Social Enterprise & Civic Impact
Younis Group operates as a social enterprise, reinvesting 60% of profits into London’s digital infrastructure and community initiatives. Mohammed applies the same rigorous Information Science principles to strengthen both commercial growth and public good, addressing data poverty, digital exclusion, and information inequality.
Philosophy
Mohammed does not measure success by rankings alone. His focus is on authority as an operating condition, ensuring that organisations are consistently recognised, referenced, and trusted across discovery systems—today and in the AI-driven future.
Role Boundaries and Scientific Independence
As Founder and Chief Scientist, Mohammed operates within defined governance boundaries that separate scientific decision-making from commercial delivery. Methodological integrity, interpretability, and accuracy are prioritised over tactical optimisation or short-term performance metrics.
This separation ensures that Search Sciences™ remains evidence-led, platform-agnostic, and resilient to shifts in algorithms, incentives, and market trends.
